silver wedding bell double heart placecard holdersVictoria Lynn Burnham and Timothy Earl Hughes, both of Aragon, were married at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 17, 2006, on Okaloosa Island at Ft. Walton Beach, Fla. The bride is the daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. Tim Burnham of Silver Creek. The groom is the son of Sue Hughes of Armuchee, the late Dan Hughes and the late Angela Hughes Bailey. The father of the bride performed the double-ring ceremony at sunset, beneath an archway decorated with white hibiscus, fuchsia, chartreuse, blue, orange and gold lilies, grape leaves, English ivy, Boston ferns and white tulle. The aisle was decorated with tiki torches adorned with the same decorations as the archway, tied with white tulle bows. Boston ferns, English ivy and grape leaves also lined the aisle. Palm trees and decorated tiki torches flanked the archway.
A program of wedding music was performed by guitar duo Nicholas Holt and James Chandler. Selections included traditional bridal songs and Brazilian wedding music. Tiffany Howard of Kennesaw, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Christine Burnham of Kennesaw, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Amber Lansdell and Jessica Colon, both of Rome, Kayla Collier of Dallas, cousin of the bride, Sumer Williams of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Crystal Luker of Carrollton and Lindsey Hughes of Armuchee, sister of the groom. Attendants wore black, knee-length dresses of various styles, complemented by bracelets and anklets made of coral and shells, gifts from the bride. Marenthia Harris, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. She wore a short-sleeved, ivory satin dress, covered in champagne lace and featuring a satin bow at the jeweled neckline. She dropped red rose petals from a white satin basket decorated with a white lace handle and a white satin bow. She wore a matching bow in her hair. The bride, given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, chose a formal two-piece white gown featuring a strapless, fitted bodice with a sweetheart neckline that laced in the back with white satin ribbon. The bodice was adorned with silver and iridescent sequins, seed pearls and crystals. It was ruched to one side and the full A-line silhouette skirt was highlighted with gathers of material adorned with silver and iridescent sequins, seed pearls and crystals. She wore a pearl and crystal princess-style tiara, pearl and diamond earrings and a pearl and diamond necklace. The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of fire and ice roses wrapped with white satin ribbon and pearls and tied with a white tulle bow. Jeremy Green of Armuchee, cousin of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were John White of Rome, Todd Howard of Kennesaw, brother-in-law of the bride, Brad Burnham of Athens, brother of the bride, Jeremy Payne of Taylorsville, Clint Collier of Dallas, cousin of the bride, and Chaz Harris of Dallas, cousin of the bride. Cody Hughes of Armuchee, nephew of the groom, was ring bearer. The mother of the bride wore a white layered, ankle-length skirt made of cotton crepe with a teal colored princess-style top that featured a V-shaped neckline, three-quarter-length, bell sleeves and trimmed in white crocheted lace. The top was also made of cotton crepe. The mother of the groom wore a black, knee-length dress featuring an A-line skirt and short sleeves. Following the ceremony, a reception was held beachside at John Beasley State Park in Ft. Walton Beach. Refreshments included the bride’s three-tier butter cake, frosted with butter cream and decorated with seashells. The groom’s chocolate on chocolate cake was decorated with chocolate-covered strawberries. A rehearsal dinner was held the night before the wedding. Other pre-nuptial parties included a miscellaneous shower hosted by Mrs. Richard Manous of Hiram at her home; a barbecue couple’s shower hosted by the groom’s family including Sue Hughes, Donna Green and Lynn Hughes, all of Armuchee; a miscellaneous shower at First Baptist Church of Lindale’s Christian Life Center hosted by Mrs. Bobby Abrams, Mrs. John Cooper, Mrs. Genile Norris, Mrs. Eugene Mount, Mrs. Jeff Davis, Mrs. Eric Whelchel, Mrs. Jim Cook, Mrs. Phil Blanton, Mrs. Kevin Boyd, Mrs. Charles Kuss, Mrs. Gilbert Mull, Mrs. Jocelyn Jordon, Mrs. Jim Cason, Mrs. Keith Honnoy and Mrs. Rodger Swain; and a lingerie shower and bridal brunch at the Holiday Inn in Ft. Walton Beach, hosted by the bride’s mother and the bride’s attendants on the morning of the wedding. Following a wedding trip to Ocho Rios, Jamaica,
the couple resides in Aragon.
